A summary of the ICE National Steering Committee on 'Inspection and Maintenance of Multi-Storey Car Parks', published 2002. Car park structures are generally subjected to more severe environments than buildings and many have been subject to low standards of maintenance and repair. The recommendations give guidance on good practice for car park owners, operators and their engineering advisors, and aim to assist in maintaining safe structures and cost-effective inspection and maintenance with minimum disruption.
