London faces a unique set of transport challenges. On the one hand, Transport for London is a successful model of transport integration, running tubes, buses, trams, river services and the London rail system. Facilities and support are provided for all sections of the community, including older people, the mobility impaired and parents with young children. On the other hand, significant challenges still remain, as London is a city with a transport network under severe stress, as evidenced by delays, congestion, overcrowding and pollution.
