Covering all surface inland modes of transport and mostly confined to England, TYTP consists of expenditure projections, for both the public and private sectors, broken down by sector nd expenditure type (capital or current) for every financial year 2010/11. Transport sectors covered by TYTP are: rail; motorways and trunk roads; London; local transport (including local roads). Accompanying the projections of expenditure for each sector are a list of projects to be undertaken during the life of the TYTP and the outcomes which should be achieved as a result. This briefing note offers a description of the main features of the plan and assesses its impact in the overall context of transport policy in Great in. The main strengths and weaknesses of the TYTP are then identified.
