Assessment of free surface flows is a topic of immense importance worldwide, given the environmental and socio-economic threats posed by floods, droughts, etc. Recent advances will cover the simulation of extreme ocean waves, coastal inundation, urban flooding, and sediment-laden flows. Topics will include tsunami, a focused wave group methodology for extreme storm waves, wave overtopping of coastal defences, urban flood inundation, chaotic mixing in shallow reservoirs, and debris flows.
