The ICE Library provides remote online access to a number of its catalogues and databases:
ICE Library Catalogue
Web visitors can search the Library's online catalogue of books, journals, reports and conferences and request items to be posted to them. Catalogue items may have online content associated with them in the form of links to websites, summary pages or downloadable files. These are indicated by small icons on brief records, while full records contain text links (HTTP link under Further details).
The ICE Virtual Library
Online access is available to the full text of individual ICE journals and the complete archive of ICE papers back to 1836, via the ICE Virtual Library. Articles are available to subscribers or by pay-to-view; material published before 1900 is free. Hardcopies of journal issues are available for loan. Please contact the library.

Collection of over 150 books including popular titles such as:

McGraw-Hill's Digital Engineering Library
Collection of over 200 of McGraw-Hill's engineering handbooks and textbooks, such as:
- Tonias: Bridge Engineering, Second Edition
- Hicks: Civil Engineering Formulas, Second Edition
- Brockenbrough: Highway Engineering Handbook: Building and Rehabilitating the Infrastructure, Third Edition
Springer for Research and Development
Direct access to 300 journals and over 6000 books, published between 2005 and 2011, in the ‘Engineering’ and ‘Earth sciences’ collections.
Once on the Springer site, you should be able to create an account for yourself to give you easier access.
Wiley Online Library
Small collection of popular titles such as:
- Porteous: Structural Timber Design to Eurocode 5
- Curtin: Structural Masonry Designers' Manual Third Edition

Emerald Information Service
Unlimited access and downloads from two Emerald journals: 'Engineering, construction and architectural management' and 'Structural survey'
Ebsco Discovery Service
The Service enhances the ICE Library catalogue by allowing members to search the content of some of the library’s journals, as well as a vast range of other journals and publications available to EBSCO, the provider. Through EBSCO, members will be able to gain direct, remote access to more of the Library’s resources.
