Companions of ICE are persons who, if not civil engineers by profession, are by their connection with engineering, qualified to combine and co-operate with civil engineers in the development of civil engineering and allied professions.

Am I eligible
You may be eligible for Companion membership if you work at the same level as a Fellow, but in a field relating to civil engineering, rather than in civil engineering itself.
You might be part of an organisation which is on the periphery of civil engineering or a sole practitioner who provides specialist services.
How to make an application
To make an application to become a Companion of the ICE you must submit the following documentation:
- ICE Companion Application Form
- CV (minimum 1000 words) providing full details of your experience, role and position.
- The signatures of three sponsors who must be of Fellow status and one of whom must be a Fellow of the Institution whilst the other two can be ICE Fellows or Fellows of another recognised professional engineering institution
- Non refundable entrance fee
- Continuing Professional Development records for the last 3 years
- Certified copy of your academic qualification(s)
