Professor Jean-Louis Briaud, of Texas A&M University, USA, and President of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, is visiting the British Geotechnical Association in March. He will give an overview of ISSMGE's recent activities to the audience attending the half-day seminar on "Unsaturated Soil Slopes: from theory to practice" taking place at Imperial College on the afternoon of the prestigious Rankine Lecture on 20th March. Prof Briaud will be a guest of the BGA at the Lecture and the Dinner in honour of the 2013 Rankine Lecturer, Professor Michele Jamiolkowski of Politecnico di Torino, Studio Geotecnico Italiano.
