Bristol Graduate Highly Commended in NCE Graduate of the Year Awards 2012

Date:

16 JANUARY 2013

Congratulations to Eva Linnell of Atkins, who was highly commended in the NCE Graduate of the Year Awards 2012.

The competition received 115 entries from graduates across the world, and Eva was one of six chosen to face gruelling interviews from a panel of 17 senior directors from the awards' sponsoring companies.

Eva was named as one of four highly commended graduates, and received a prize of £350. Judges commented that she is 'people focused and a bright thinker...'

Aged just 25, she has five years' experience as a senior placement officer with charity Engineers Without Borders, and completed a six-month placement to Ecuador straight after leaving Bristol University. Her task was to analyse and supervise construction of improved water supplies to several remote rural villages, which convinced her that she was able to make a life-changing difference.

Eva now works with Atkins water division and takes an active role in the ICE Bristol committee.

The 2013 competition will be launched in late June 2013 and will be open to civil engineers who graduated in 2012.
