Congratulations to John Watt, from Burnt Sienna Structures, who has been declared winner of the CARE (Conservation Accreditation Register for Engineers) photography competition with his photo ‘The Mesquita, Cordoba, Spain.’
The Mesquita is an 11th-Century Moorish mosque with a Baroque cathedral built through its centre. The CARE Panel praised the photograph, saying it is a “unique and enchanting blend of cultures and religions”. John was delighted to win, and said that the Mesquita was “one of the most moving buildings I've seen and the most extraordinary contrast between two religions in one place in the world.”
Have you got a great conservation photo?
If so, enter this year’s competition, before 31 August. Find out more
