The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) South East England Region has welcomed the high priority being given to improving infrastructure in East Sussex by the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP).
Director of ICE South East England, John Laverty, said: “ICE South East England believes that investing in appropriate infrastructure projects not only generates jobs while the project is underway but perhaps more importantly provides a lasting legacy for future economic prosperity.
“This week in a speech at the Chelmsford City Showcase for Business SELEP’s chairman, John Spence, made clear that he shares that view telling his audience that priorities included tackling the barriers to growth resulting from the area’s transport infrastructure and particularly tackling congestion at the Dartford River Crossing.
“We welcome SELEP’s initiatives on transport infrastructure, which promise benefits for the county as well as the national economy.”
ICE South East England has 11,000 members living and working in the region. More information can be found at www.ice.org.uk/see. You can follow ICE South East England on Twitter: @ICE_SEEngland
