Consultants join forces to win Regional Comms Comp
In a spirit of true co-operation a team of five from WSP, Arup and Atkins has won the regional round of the Communications Competition. Tasha Scott, a Graduate Structural Engineer with WSP, had gathered her team from contacts she'd made at ICE networking events in the region.
Damian McGettrick, Chairman of the judges at the event which took place on 5 March said:‘This regional round had a record number of entries from the West Midlands with all four teams demonstrating excellent presentation skills. The winners showed real performance as a team and fielded some tricky questions from the audience remarkably well. It was great to see such a great turnout and support from the audience in this public forum style competition, where the engineers are challenged to think about the real impact of their proposed scheme.’
The team will celebrate their success with free tickets to the ICE West Midlands Annual Dinner and will go forward to the next round with a chance to win the National award and a £500 prize.
