Energy Efficiency and Conservation Campaign

The ICE student chapter at UET Peshawar successfully organised the “Energy Efficiency and Conservation Campaign” in March 2012. This event attracted hundreds of entrants and the programme included a model competition, poster competition and a quiz.

Teams from different universities, colleges and schools participated in the event. Participants presented different alternatives and awareness about energy efficiency and conservation through their models and posters.

Dr. Adil from the civil engineering department, Dr. Ali Kamran from the mechanical engineering department and Dr. Imran from the chemical engineering department acted as judges.

25 teams participated in the model competition, which was won by Beacon House school system Peshawar. Models from the mechanical engineering department at UET Peshawar got 2nd and 3rd prizes.

In the posters competition, entry was even higher with 50 teams participating. A team from Iqra university won 1st prize, chemical engineering department UET Peshawar won 2nd prize and mechanical engineering department UET Peshawar got 3rd prize.

The quiz attracted the highest number of entrants with over 100 teams participating. It was won by one of the teams from Beacon House school system. The computer system engineering department team was the runner up.

In the closing ceremony, chief guest, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Engineering and Technology distributed prizes and certificates to the winners. He congratulated the ICE student chapter UET on successfully arranging such a high class event.
