Engaging with members... the webinar way!

Date:

10 MAY 2012

Having held two successful webinars (online seminars) in the past year on learned society topics, ICE East Midlands used the technology for a membership development event for the first time this week.

Seventeen delegates joined the session in which our Membership Development Officers Jane Bullivant and Ray Hulse outlined the steps towards achieving Technician Membership of ICE (Eng Tech TMICE).
The online event replaced a planned seminar planned to be held at a hotel in the region and saved not only the cost of room hire and catering but also the cost of travel for members.
As the event was held at 12.30pm, this allowed delegates to take part during their lunch hour without requesting time off or attend an early morning or evening meeting.
The presentation included:

  • The routes to Technician Membership
  • The attributes successful applicants must demonstrate
  • An overview of the development objectives required
  • CPD requirements
  • An outline of the Professional Review process.
  • The RST will be offering further membership events by webinar in the Autumn.  Full details will be released shortly.
In spite of the success of this event Jane and Ray still look forward to meeting with East Midlands graduates and trainees at other seminars where face-to face presentation and discussion is more appropriate, at company visits and at membership surgeries where individuals can seek advice on their personal career development.
