ICE North West raised £800 at their annual carol concert at St Ann’s Church in Manchester, with the funds being donated to WaterAid, a charity dedicated to providing safe drinking water to Third World nations.
This year, the increasingly popular event was thrown open to Christmas shoppers, with the seasonal refreshments of mulled wine and festive cake tempting in a congregation of around 200 for the evening concert.
Organiser Jon Goddard of event sponsors GHA Livigunn said the hour long event provided an ideal way of de-stressing after a long day of retail mayhem.
The Manchester Chorale directed by Jill Henderson-Wild performed on stage, along with ICE North West Brass. Institution of Civil Engineers President Peter Hansford was guest of honour.
