Enthusiastic members needed to join ICE Council

Date:

4 FEBRUARY 2011

Nominations are now opening for 12 new members to join ICE Council as trustees.

Become part of the Institution’s strategic decision-making body by joining Council and steer how we go forward in delivering value to our members and representing civil engineers in the wider world.

As a trustee (the role of Council members) you’ll be responsible for reflecting the needs of fellow ICE members and for shaping thinking on how ICE needs to position itself in industry and the public domain.

Alternatively, if you know a fellow ICE member who would be suited to this task then encourage them to apply and act as one of their sponsors.

Each new Council member will serve a three-year term of office, commencing on 1 November 2011. Council meets five times a year, usually on a Tuesday afternoon at One Great George Street, London.

All nominations must be submitted to the Council Office by 31 March 2011.

There are 12 vacancies to be filled this year including:

  • Five Regional members to represent the East Midlands, North East, West Midlands, Wales and Hong Kong
  • Three members to represent ICE’s international areas of Asia Pacific (excluding Hong Kong), Middle East and Africa, and the Americas
  • Candidates must signify their willingness to stand and should fully understand the responsibilities and obligations of trustees (further information on this is included on the nomination form). All candidates require five sponsors as indicated below. All sponsors must be fully paid ICE members and no member may sponsor more than one candidate.
