Brunel the Bear's Great Journey will reach the North West on 22nd May! Find out how you can get involved.....
Brunel the Bear (http://www.brunelthebear.org.uk/) is a well dressed toy bear named after the inspiring Victorian Civil Engineer. He will be a mascot for ICE members who support and promote charities that use engineering knowledge and skills to make life better for people and communities around the world.
On 9th April 2011, Brunel the Bear set off from ICE Headquarters in Westminster, London on a sponsored tour of the United Kingdom.
Brunel will be visiting ICE regions, moving between engineering landmarks in a giant relay. The aim of the Big Journey is to raise money for engineering charities and to increase public awareness of Civil Engineering and ICE. The North West will be supporting Engineers Without Borders UK and Engineers for Overseas Development.
Whilst in the North West Brunel will be visiting each of the branches and exploring places of Civil Engineering interest, he will be visiting schools and taking part in events to raise money the allocated charities.
