An engineer from Romsey in Hampshire has qualified to become a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

Mr Phil Jackson, who is a Director of Intra-teamIT Consultants based in Romsey, was awarded his fellowship in the latest list issued by ICE. He is also Chairman of the ICE National Information Systems Panel.

Director of ICE South East England, John Laverty, said: “ICE South East England welcomes Mr Jackson who joins the 62 existing working ICE Fellows based in Hampshire and we look forward to working with him for the benefit of civil engineering in the Region.

“Fellow is the highest grade of membership of the Institution and is for senior civil engineers who have made a significant contribution to the civil engineering profession or have advanced the practice of engineering. Fellows can use the post nominal letters FICE.”

Mr Jackson said: “I joined ICE as a student member in June 1966 and completed the professional qualifications necessary to become a Member of ICE. To now be awarded the status of Fellow is a great honour, which recognises my work as a Civil Engineer.

“ICE membership has benefitted me throughout my career and has also brought benefits to my employers as they know that the criteria for ICE membership are extremely high and rigorously monitored.

“I look forward to working with ICE in Hampshire to promote the work of Civil Engineers.”
