ICE East Midlands office opens in landmark development, Nottingham

ICE East Midlands has moved to a new regional office at The University of Nottingham Innovation Park.

The ICE Regional Support Team (RST) will be based there and will continue to provide a key point of contact for its members and Regional Committees.

The office will be based in the Sir Colin Campbell Building, a landmark new development within the Jubilee Campus which has won awards for its design and contribution to science and innovation. The building’s sustainable design means that all heating and cooling in the building is delivered by a renewable energy source using heat exchangers in on-site lakes. The offices will offer the advantage of additional meeting facilities together with a larger space for more seminars and membership events on site. The ICE EM has already hosted a Draft Floods and Water Bill Breakfast Meeting in March on-site with very positive feedback from the 70 attendees.

ICE East Midlands Regional Director Malcolm Jackson:

“The ICE East Midlands is entering a new and exciting phase in its development. We are pleased that we can benefit from the additional space that our new premises affords and the proximity to the University which continues to develop engineers of the future. The new office will be an opportunity to continue to build links with education and industry on behalf of our membership.”

Prof Alan Dodson Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University, and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, commented:

“The University is very pleased to welcome ICE East Midlands to the University’s brand new Innovation Park. There is clear benefit to both parties in this move especially in bringing the ICE closer to our students and enabling us to facilitate a stronger relationship between academia and the industry regionally.  This should enable a much richer two-way dialogue between our two organisations."
