ICE Strategic Infrastructure Group meets the UK Trade and Investment chief
The latest Strategic Infrastructure Group (SIG) meeting, chaired by ICE Vice President Tim Broyd, provided a valuable opportunity for the group’s members to debate and share concerns around the future of infrastructure investment and the implications for industry.
High-level industry figures from organisations such as BAM Nuttall, Buro Happold and Mott MacDonald gathered in May for the event. Chief Executive of UK Trade and Investment, Nick Baird, highlighted the importance of inward investment into infrastructure projects to boost the UK economy.
What is the SIG?
Organised by ICE, the SIG brings together chief executives and directors from major companies in civil engineering and related sectors to meet key figures and discuss the most pressing infrastructure issues. Previous meetings have heard from Rt Hon Greg Clark MP, Minister for Decentralisation, Sir Michael Pitt from the Infrastructure Planning Commission and Lord Davies of Abersoch, then Treasury Minister.
