As part of a regular process of reviewing ICE procedures, a working group led by Vice President Bill Hewlett is to review aspects of ICE governance.
The review follows agreement from Council that some areas of the Institution’s governance should be reviewed to ensure sufficient flexibility and that it is fit for purpose to meet the challenges ahead in continuing to deliver the Institution’s strategy for the next 5 years.
The working group will review various processes with ICE staff and senior members, and invites the views of ICE members.
Bill Hewlett said: “We are very much in listening mode and keen to hear our members’ views. We are looking for cost efficiencies and ways to deliver better value while maintaining our services and influence, and remaining true to our objectives.”
The scope of the review will include:
■ The effectiveness of current procedures, processes and modus operandi (building on previous studies)
■ The scope and role of existing committees
■ Interaction between Council and Executive Board
■ Clarity of governance relationship between Council and ICE Regions
■ The process for establishing ICE policy positions and media statements
