ICE website: new topics and better search

Date:

30 AUGUST 2012

In response to member feedback obtained as a result of the 2011 Learned Society workshops, significant improvements have been made to the ICE website this year.

Search

A new search tool has been launched, integrating an ’advanced search’ option. You can now:

  • Search specific areas of the site
  • Look for exact document types
  • Search over a set period of time Restrict your search to the document title

The search is now more accurate and will help you to quickly access the information you are looking for.

Knowledge

Another big development for 2012 is the re-launch of the ICE Knowledge section. This was following feedback suggesting that we needed to do more to bring the website’s content together and make it more accessible.

Our specialist knowledge area now has a new homepage, providing access to more of ICE’s knowledge products. For example, you can now:

  • See the most recently added recorded lectures
  • Find new content
  • Access related documents
  • Look for job opportunities from ICERecruit (where applicable)
  • Find details of free content from the Virtual Library

In addition, you can access information on the ICE’s associated societies, expert panels, best practice, case studies and policy information via the specialist knowledge areas.

Still to come

We’ve got plenty more to deliver this year and are currently in the final stages of testing a new ‘events attended’ tool, allowing you to easily access details of ICE events you’ve been to throughout the year.

The development of new functionality for MyICE is also well underway, aimed at allowing you to select the content you see each time you log in to MyICE based on your professional interests.

So don’t miss out – personalise now!

Make sure you’ve set your interests on MyICE so you can experience the benefits of our new website personalisation.

Feedback

If you’d like to comment on any of these changes, we’d welcome your thoughts at web.feedback@ice.org.uk. There is also a second phase of Regional Focus Groups taking place this Autumn, and if you would like to attend your input would be very welcome.
