The latest ICE quarterly media coverage report sums up key media coverage of ICE activities from October to December 2010.

ICE’s approach to media engagement focuses on several key long-term campaigns – funding, planning, resilience and low carbon.

The Institution’s proactive media strategy includes promoting major ICE reports such as the State of the Nation inquiries, and publicising key events such as the Brunel lectures.

The ICE press office also constantly monitors the media for opportunities to issue reactive comments. Such opportunities include responding to key announcements from Government, politicians, other professional bodies and in response to events that directly impact on infrastructure such as the snow-related chaos we have seen in recent winters.

Geoff French, ICE Vice President - Public Voice, said:

"This quarter has seen the fruits of our efforts during the summer in the run up to the Comprehensive Spending Review, where the media focus for ICE was to ensure government recognised the economic and environmental value of continued investment in infrastructure, while positioning ourselves as an organisation that was realistic about the need to reduce the huge budget deficit."
