ICE has been supporting work by the New Statesman and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). This work highlights the major obstacles to improving the UK’s infrastructure and suggests how research can help to address them.

Bringing leaders together

New Statesman published a series of articles, including one by ICE President Barry Clarke, while ICE hosted a roundtable discussion led by The Rt Hon David Willetts MP, Minister for Universities and Science.

The overall programme is designed to raise awareness of the contribution research can make in helping to solve current as well as future infrastructure challenges and to build connections between leading thinkers in industry, academia and government.

Right people, right skills

In opening the recent debate, Barry Clarke spoke of the importance of educating future business, government and research leaders with the right skills to develop and sustain Britain's infrastructure.
