Limassol Marina
The development of Limassol Marina is creating new prospects for Limassol and Cyprus as a whole. Estimated to cost € 350 million, Limassol Marina will firmly place Cyprus on the nautical yachting map.
Construction works are ongoing, with approximately 90% of the marine works and 60% of the residential development and infrastructure completed. The Marine works include, amongst others, a main breakwater and a lee breakwater with reclamation in order to create 2 artificial islands/peninsulas inside the Marina basin, on which there will be luxury residential villas each with its own berthing area.
The target completion date is the 28th of February 2013 and the Marina will then be operational with the first yachts arriving on the 1st of March 2013.
The capacity of the Marina is 650 berths and yachts from 8m to 110m can be accommodated. There will be boat repair facilities and boat storage areas.
The Project is privately financed and it is a D.B.F.O.T. type development (Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer). After the expiry of the lease period it will become the property of the Government.
Costas Meletiou CEng, ICE Member in Cyprus, is acting as the Government’s Consultant/Advisor on this and the other Marinas which will be built in the future (4 no altogether). On completion of the Limassol Marina Costas Meletiou shall check and certify that it has been constructed according to the required standards and specifications.
