The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) North East has announced the nominated projects from across the region for its annual Robert Stephenson Awards.
A total of 12 projects have been submitted for the prestigious awards.
Every year organisations and businesses from across the region attend the celebrated awards, presented by ICE North East, which give recognition to outstanding examples of design and construction undertaken either in the North East or by those based within the region.
Robert Stephenson, one of history’s greatest civil engineers, died in 1859, leaving behind a regional, national and global legacy.
Alan Surtees, Robert Stephenson Awards Secretary said: “This year’s awards entries range in size and type of job, from a climate change study to bridge and flooding work, even to public art.
“The two categories recognise projects valued greater than £4 million, as well as those less than £4 million, and this year’s awards ceremony, which is part of the annual ICE North East dinner at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel on April 14, promises to be another excellent celebration of the industry.”
Nominations were open to any organisation employing ICE Members either based in, or working in the North East and the clients, consultants and contractors hoping for success are:
