Matthew Lugg OBE

Congratulations to ICE East Midlands member Matthew Lugg who was awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours.

Matthew, who is Director of Environment and Transport at Lecistershire County Council, received his honour for services to local government.

He has worked for the authority since 2005 and has worked in the public sector for more than 30 years.

Matthew, who lives in Gainsborough, first joined ICE in 1975 and successfully passed Professional Review to become a Chartered Civil Engineer in 1984.

On receiving his OBE, he commented: "I am very proud to have been given such a prestigious award, I'm a very lucky man.
 
"It is fantastic when you've done a lot of work over a number of years to be recognised in this way, but it is not just about me, it is about being part of a committed and engaged organisation."
