A group of Volker Fitzpatrick site engineers met recently with MDO Roger Chantrelle to learn about the NVQ route to TMICE.
Volker Fitzpatrick recognises the benefits of TMICE and is keen to widen access to the qualification for its site engineers who are currently gaining NVQs in the process of renewing their CSCS cards. The NVQ route is a very straightforward way to apply for TMICE. Holders of an approved NVQ level 3 (see Membership Guidance Note MGN7) can use the evidence they have produced at all three stages of the TMICE qualification process. The NVQ3 provides the educational base; it demonstrates substantial achievement of the Initial Professional Development requirements; and the NVQ3 units are the basis of the NVQ Portfolio Report which replaces the standard Project Report (see MGN38).
