The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) North East is urging would-be award winners not to miss the deadline for submissions to its prestigious Robert Stephenson Awards 2011.
The awards are ICE North East’s prestigious annual celebration of excellence within the region.
Entry submissions must be received by noon on January 21, 2011.
The Robert Stephenson Awards are aimed at highlighting outstanding examples of design and construction undertaken either within the region, or by companies or organisations which are based in the North East.
Prizes in two categories, for projects valued greater than £4million and those valued at less than £4million, will be awarded at the ICE North East Annual Dinner, a special evening of celebration, on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Hotel.
Outstanding projects which are considered to be particularly environmentally sustainable, or help to contribute to the preservation of the region’s heritage, or where innovation features strongly, may be given additional or special awards.
Jason Boddy, regional chairman of ICE North East, said: “Time is running out for those who want to enter the Robert Stephenson Awards 2011.
“This is an opportunity for the industry to come together to celebrate civil engineering in the North East, so those who want their achievements, or a particular project, to be a focal point of our annual dinner should act now to get their entries in.”
