North West engineer is ICE Mentor of the Year
Mark Brown has been awarded the accolade of ICE Mentor of the Year.
Mark is a Highways Technical Director for Hyder Consulting in Warrington, and was nominated by Sophie Smith, Manchester Branch chair. His mentoring work has extended from recruiting and mentoring Quest scholars, acting as an SCE and mentoring graduates both in Hyder and externally. He is an ICE reviewer and became a Fellow at the age of just 38. Mark's crop of mentees is notable for their active involvement in ICE Branches and on the Graduates and Students committee. Mark was Highly Commended in the ICE NW Mentor of the Year award earlier this year.
Mark said, "It is a great honour to receive this award. I would urge all our Members to mentor our students, graduates and technicians through to professional membership. It is a great feeling to witness a young professional gain Professional Membership of an Institution."
