North West member in Tony Chapman Medal final

Jo Hill, Civil Engineer with United Utilities, was one of the top IEng candidates last year. The top 5 Incorporated Member candidates from 2011 Professional Reviews presented their project reports at the Tony Chapman Medal final on 28 February 2012.

The aim of the Tony Chapman Medal is to promote the awareness of the role of newly qualified Incorporated Engineers. This medal commemorates Tony Chapman (1948 – 2004) who contributed significantly in raising the profile of our Incorporated members.

Jo Hill IEng MICEJo presented her project report on' The Resolution of Unsatisfactory Intermittent Discharges in Penrith Town Centre'. She said, "It has taken me a while to get round to sitting my review and I was very honoured to be nominated for this award. It was a great personal achievement to be recognised in this way."

"I had a great amount of support from my mentor, sponsors and colleagues at United Utilties and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all. It was an excellent experience and I am now looking at the requirements for the Technical Report Route to CEng."
