An engineer from Charlbury in Oxfordshire has qualified to become a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
Mr John Dora, who recently formed John Dora Consulting Limited was awarded his fellowship in the latest list issued by ICE.
ICE Regional Director, John Laverty, said: “ICE South East England welcomes Mr Dora who joins the 35 existing working ICE Fellows based in Oxfordshire and we look forward to working with him for the benefit of civil engineering in the Region.
“Fellow is the highest grade of membership of the Institution and is for senior civil engineers who have made a significant contribution to the civil engineering profession or have advanced the practice of engineering. Fellows can use the post nominal letters FICE.”
Mr Dora said: “I joined ICE as a student member in September 1980 and completed the professional qualifications necessary to become a Member of ICE. Now to be awarded the status of Fellow is a great honour which recognises my work as a Civil Engineer.
“ICE membership has benefitted me throughout my career and has also brought benefits to my past employers, who include Network Rail and the Environment Agency, as they know that the criteria for ICE membership are extremely high and rigorously monitored.
“I look forward to working with ICE in Oxfordshire to promote the work of Civil Engineers.”
