Poster and presentation competition at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University
The ICE Student Chapter at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) organised a successful poster and presentation competition earlier this year.
Presentation topics included economic trends in civil engineering, green methods of civil engineering and structural design. While the poster competition included topics on earthquake resistant building design and green buildings.
First and second year students competed ethusiastically in the competition and the judges were very involved.
The poster presentation session turned to a technical discussion on green buildings and Prof. Kolte shared his views and experiences with the students on design of green buildings. Prof. Panda also shared the economic and market point of view on the emerging technologies presented by the students.
“We really came to know about the financial mechanisms involved in the construction industry and the structural design of some of the megastructures.” said a 2nd year student at the end of the day.
