Presidential Tour to the Middle East: Kuwait
ICE President Richard Coackley visited Kuwait in October as part of his Presidential tour to the Middle East region where he also attended the ICE’s 3rd MEA Convention in Dubai.
The president’s visit to Kuwait began with the signing of an Agreement of Co-operation with the Kuwait Society of Engineers. This was followed by an interesting discussion with the British ambassador in his residence, then similar discussions with senior officials in the Ministry of Electricity and Water. The afternoon was taken up with a tour of a power and desalination plant, and the president still had enough energy left to attend a reception in the evening of local members and graduates, very few of whom had ever met each other. This has laid a firm foundation for future progress of this most recent of local branches.
