In his first blog post as ICE President, Peter Hansford reports on the progress that has already been made in promoting the value of engineers and the Institution.
During his ‘very busy but very good’ first six weeks in office, Hansford writes, he has worked to progress the six ‘values’ he laid out in his Presidential Address ‘Delivering Value’: value of infrastructure, value for money, value for carbon, the value of engineers, the value of the Institution and value to society.
Key activities and achievements highlighted in the blog include meeting with MPs from Government and Opposition, attending his first Presidential visits to Scotland and Northern Ireland, and beginning work on the Create Sport initiative, a school challenge aimed at inspiring future generations of Engineers.
