Applications should be sent to the South West Regional Office between 15 October and 23 November 2012.
The Institution of Civil Engineers offers financial support of £1500 to civil engineering students working towards professional qualification as an Engineering Technician. It is open to those in further education and higher education studying courses in civil engineering or construction, including:
- National Certificate or Diploma
- Higher National Certificate or Diploma
- Foundation Degree
The award is available to full-time and part-time students, including those studying on day-release from an employer. It is paid in equal instalments over the duration of the course, typically £750 per year over a two-year course.
Successful recipients of a Scholarship are expected to provide a brief report of their experience each year, and to take part in a regional activity that promotes civil engineering during the year.
Now is the time to apply. The ICE South West Region has three awards to make this year. Application forms are now available to download from the ICE website, and should be sent to the Regional Office between 15 October and 23 November 2012. Interviews are held, and awards are made, locally within the SW Region.
