Regional Projects Win Civil Engineering 'Oscar'
Civil Engineering projects across the East of England have been honoured in the annual ICE Merit Awards.
The Awards viewed as the 'Oscars' of the civil engineering profession were presented by ICE President Richard Coackley at an awards dinner held at Ickworth House near Bury St Edmunds. Their aim is to:
- Recognise merit within the practising profession.
- Encourage excellence and pride in the work of civil engineers.
- Promote the values demonstrated in the best projects.
- Raise general awareness of the valuable contributions that civil engineering provides to society.
- Encourage team working to overcome adversity and drive benefits for people and environment for future generations.
Projects are entered into one or all of four categories:
- Physical Achievement
- TechnicalExcellence/Innovation
- Sustainable Construction/Engineering
- Team Achievement
