Registration for MERIT 2013 – the annual construction business game supported by ICE – is now open.
The challenge for this year’s competition is to manage a construction company in a realistic environment. Teams must survive in an economy emerging from recession through eight rounds of the game before the top six are invited to the intensive MERIT 2013 final.
Learning by doing
MERIT is responsible for training over 23,000 young staff across the construction sector in business and financial management skills. This experience prepares employees for the more senior roles they aspire to by developing their leadership and decision making abilities.
Previous competitors have praised MERIT’s active and participative learning approach, which challenges staff to excel while also developing their professional skills.
How to register
Registration for MERIT is open until the end of January 2013, before the game gets underway with the first submissions on February 14.
Trialling of the simulation will be available from January to allow teams to improve their understanding of the tools needed to take part.
The final for the top six teams will take place in the department of civil and building engineering, Loughborough University in April. A full timetable for MERIT 2013 is available on their website, as well as information on how to register a team.
