Good communication skills are essential for your engineering career so this is an important event to help you:
■ Practice speaking in public
■ Develop your presentation skills
■ Demonstrate your team working abilities
■ Test your powers of persusion
Few engineers today can progress in their careers without mastering the skills of communication and public interaction. Past experience has shown us that these skills are essential and can make the difference between the right project being built quickly and the project not being built at all. The ICE Communication Competition gives you the opportunity to develop these skills in a role play public consultation scenario and also boosts your CPD!
Rules of entry:
■ Teams should be made up of four graduates or students each with no more than 7 years industry experience (5 members permitted where 1 student is attached to a graduate team)
■ Regional round winners will go through to the National Round which will be held in April
■ Entry fee is £100
■ Top prize of £500 for the National Round winners
