Thames Valley and South Branch Graduate and Student Papers Competitions now accepting entries.
ICE South east England's Thames Valley and South Branches are now accepting entries for their heats of the 2011 Graduate and Student Papers Competition.
The competition is a chance for G&S members across the branches to share their knowledge an interests with the wider engineering community. The winner in each branch wins a prize of £150 and will have their paper put through for the national final in June.

Thames Valley Branch (Closing date for abstracts - Wed 22nd December. Presentation evening (Reading) - Thu 3rd February)
South Branch (Closing date for abstracts - Monday 17th January. Presentation evening (Southampton) - Wednesday 16th February)
The Kent and East Sussex heat was held on Wednesday 23rd November and the results were as follows:
1st place Capt Rob Hamilton (Royal Engineers) - Wind Power – A sustainable solution to the UK’s energy demands or expensive environmental tokenism?
2nd place Capt Gary Allen (Royal Engineers) - Information Management and the use of Information Technology in the Civil Engineering Industry
3rd place Sam Sajja (Amey) - Structural foundations for technology infrastructure on the Highways Agency network
