Shooter Presents His Vision for a Sustainable Railway

Adrian Shooter Chairman, DB Regio UK Ltd and Chiltern Railways gave a presentation to 80 ICE and RCEA members at Austin Court on Tuesday 9th November.

explained how the Chiltern Railways route competed with Virgin and Great Western to link London to Birmingham. He outlined details of Project Evergreen 3 which would include track layout changes and line-speed improvements between Neasden Junction (London) and Aynho Junction (near Banbury), reducing journey times from Marylebone to London from 2  hours to 98 minutes and that other journey times will be reduced by around 20%.

Further changes to the Oxford Line would include a new route from Oxford to London, new multi-modal gateway at Water Eaton Parkway (north Oxford), quantum improvement in Bicester-Oxford service, direct rail service to Bicester Village retail attraction and facilitate East-West Rail.

Adrian’s presentation included details of the full programme, project financing and the company’s philosophy.
