Trans Tasman: retaining membership and increasing value

Date:

1 MAY 2012

ICE held its second Trans Tasman mini summit in Sydney, Australia in March. The summit saw ICE Representatives from Australia and New Zealand as well as the Asia Pacific Council member and Area Manager come together to discuss the trans-tasman strategy and set out their focus for the next three years.

Striving to improve our service
The summit is an excellent opportunity to establish relationships and share ideas. The team defined our goals as:

  • Retaining membership
  • Increasing the value of service
  • Improving support to graduates and other members moving to the region
  • Identifying local experts to contribute to the ICE knowledge network
  • Making the most of technology including video conferencing and viewing lectures online

Hearing from the summit
Tim Warren, ICE Council member for Asia Pacific, told us ‘The mini-summit allowed us to set a real strategy to grow a co-ordinated plan for an increased set of services for our existing members and to work to bring new members from Perth in the west to Christchurch in the east.’
