West Sussex engineer is latest Fellow for Institution of Civil Engineers

An engineer from East Grinstead in West Sussex has qualified to become a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

Mr Rod Hulse, who is Head of Development Engineering at London Gatwick Airport was awarded his fellowship in the latest list issued by ICE. He is also a member of the recently formed ICE South East England Aviation Expert Panel.

ICE Regional Director, John Laverty, said: “ICE South East England welcomes Mr Hulse who joins the 430 existing working ICE Fellows based in South East England and we look forward to working with him for the benefit of civil engineering in the Region.

“Fellow is the highest grade of membership of the Institution and is for senior civil engineers who have made a significant contribution to the civil engineering profession or have advanced the practice of engineering. Fellows can use the post nominal letters FICE.”

Mr Hulse said: “I joined ICE as a student member in October 1973 and completed the professional qualifications necessary to become a Member of ICE. To now be awarded the status of Fellow is a great honour which recognises my work as a Civil Engineer.

“ICE membership has benefitted me throughout my career and has also brought benefits to my employers as they know that the criteria for ICE membership are extremely high and rigorously monitored.

“I look forward to working with ICE in West Sussex and across the South East to promote the work of Civil Engineers.”
