Young Civil Engineer Final Thesis Award, Hungary

Zsófia Varga wins ICE Hungary's first Young Civil Engineer Final Thesis Award.

An  audience of around 40 gathered for ICE Hungary's first Young Civil Engineer Final Thesis Award competition which was held on Thursday 20 January 2011 at the Makadam Klub, Budapest. It was judged a big success with five high class entries in differing subjects making the judges' final decision very difficult.

The winner was Zsófia Varga for her thesis "(design of) A timber footbridge in Prague". Zsófia was awarded one year free graduate membership of both the ICE and the MMK.

The awards were presented by Hamish Douglas, ICE Council Member for Europe; Gábor Szőllősy, General Secretary Hungarian Chamber of Engineers (MMK); Michael Apted, ICE Representative Hungary.
