Students bridge the gap to their futures

Over 200 young people have taken part in activities designed to inspire them to take up a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) this week. As part of the activities, they built a 14 metre Cable Stayed bridge which was visiting the Tees Valley for the first time.

Wales' First Minister joins young bridge builders

Assembly Member for Bridgend Carwyn Jones - also known as Wales' First Minster - and pupils of St Mary's Catholic Primary School became ‘trainee Civil Engineers’ for the day when they donned high-visibility vest, hard hats, safety gloves and goggles to build a mini version of the Second Severn Crossing.
