Consultants join forces to win Regional Comms Comp

In a spirit of true co-operation a team of five from WSP, Arup and Atkins has won the regional round of the Communications Competition. Tasha Scott, a Graduate Structural Engineer with WSP, had gathered her team from contacts she'd made at ICE networking events in the region.

Wales Civil Engineering Awards Shortlist Announced

ICE Wales Cymru has announced the shortlist for the prestigious Project Awards 2013. The annual Project Awards celebrate the contribution of civil engineering to Wales by recognising schemes for their excellence in concept, planning and design, contract management and construction.

South West Graduates and Students Prize Papers Regional Winner Announced

Historic Bridge and Infrastructure Awards honour conservation

Bridge projects dominated the 2012 Historic Bridge and Infrastructure Awards which were held on 7 March at ICE’s London headquarters. Winners were presented with certificates by ICE President, Professor Barry Clarke.

VolkerFitzpatrick Technician Awarded Jean Venables Medal

VolkerFitzpatrick civil engineer Richard Bamford has double cause to celebrate. He recently gained membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers allowing him to use the letters TMICE after name and has been awarded the Jean Veneables Medal.

BGA MSc Dissertation Prize awarded

6 MARCH 2013

The second BGA MSc Prize has recently been awarded to Marina Sideri of Imperial College. The prize, for MSc dissertations carried out in 2012, is open to students of any ground engineering courses, but entrants must be nominated through their course co-ordinator.

New photo competition launched to celebrate civil engineering in Wales
