The Society of the Environment (SocEnv), has recently completed a review and revision of the Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) standard. The changes primarily affect the eligibility criteria for the CEnv attribute.

ICE North East has helped youngsters at a Middlesbrough school to bridge the learning gap and find out about careers in engineering. ICE North East, assisted by the Environment Agency, took its 15 metre scaled model cable-stayed bridge to St Peter’s Catholic College in Southbank, where almost 200 students from several of its feeder primary schools worked with representatives from the Institution to assemble the structure.

The Chief Secretary to the Treasury convened the first meeting of the Strategic Engagement Forum to hold government departments to account for delivery of the projects outlined in the National Infrastructure Plan (NIP).
Pupils at a Lincoln school were able to put their maths and science skills to good use by building and testing bridges in a practical session led by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) East Midlands region.
