ICE will be exciting and engaging young people again this year at The Big Bang Fair − the UK’s largest event to promote science, technology, engineering and maths – which takes place at London’s ExCeL Centre from 14-17 March.

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) North East has helped youngsters at a Whitley Bay school to bridge the learning gap and find out about careers in engineering.

Atkins is currently involved in the development of an iconic hotel project for the Oman Tourism Company (OMRAN). The project is situated at one of most prominent tourist destinations in Jabal Akhder, which is located at a height of 6000 feet from the sea level.
ICE has been supporting work by the New Statesman and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). This work highlights the major obstacles to improving the UK’s infrastructure and suggests how research can help to address them.

The move of ICE and Thomas Telford staff into one location was achieved in January following the completion of the Eight Storey’s Gate premises.
The UK currently lacks the capacity to process all the waste that could be utilised for energy generation.

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) brought together top names in construction and engineering at an event on Monday 28 January at Durham Town Hall to discuss the role of civil engineering in supporting the economic recovery of the North East, transport priorities in the North East and the transport contribution to the North East LEP’s Economic Review.

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of our esteemed colleague, friend and ICE Member, Harry McMullen. He was a popular member of staff at Graham and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
