ENGINEERS’ CONVENTION ADDRESSES ACCELERATING INFRASTRUCTURE DELIVERY AND IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE
12 January 2010: ‘Accelerating Infrastructure Delivery – Improving the Quality of Life’ is the theme for the second Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Middle East and Africa Convention, taking place in Cape Town over the weekend of 15th – 17th January 2010.
The Convention, attended by local and international industry leaders from both Commonwealth and non-Commonwealth countries, will present the new thinking evolving internationally on the delivery of infrastructure. It will be held at the International Convention Centre and is hosted by the ICE Joint Division in South Africa (SAICE) led by ICE representative Mike Lomas.
The focal point of the event is a technical conference on Friday 15th January, with speeches on shaping infrastructure delivery from industry leaders including ICE President, Professor Paul Jowitt, SAICE President, Ali Naidu and Peter Head, OBE, of Arup. The conference is aimed at ICE and SAICE members, development organizations with a focus on Africa, industry leaders and engineers, quantity surveyors, architects, project managers, construction managers, contractors, and all built environment practitioners and professionals.
