The past year has seen a significant rise in ICE’s media profile, reflected in both the quantity and quality of media coverage gained.
The second quarter of 2010 saw news a agenda dominated by politics with the general election, the emergency budget and the new Government’s efforts to tackle the country’s deficit fuelling debate about what is most important for the UK and its people.
ICE has been part of that debate – using the media as a vehicle to drive awareness across Government and the general public, of the importance of effective and resilient infrastructure to society and for our future.
ICE’s quarterly media reports give an overview of key reactive and proactive media campaigns, the quantity and quality of coverage gained and some coverage highlights.
In addition to our reactive media work responding to political announcements, proactive campaigns this quarter include the publication of Global Water Security:
an Engineering Perspective and ICE’s State of the Nation: Infrastructure 2010 report, which provided an independent assessment of the current state of the UK’s infrastructure networks and outlined the priorities going forwards for the new Government.
