Pipeline of Future Projects Will Help Deliver UK Infrastructure Needs

Date:

28 NOVEMBER 2012

Commenting on the pipeline of future construction projects published today by the Cabinet Office, Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Director General Nick Baveystock said:

“An effective infrastructure pipeline can provide much improved visibility of future workflow and provide the basis for industry, clients and the supply chain to identify market wide requirements for skills, technology and innovation. This more strategic approach will help us grow the UK’s already world class engineering capabilities, deliver our infrastructure needs more effectively and drive long term growth and job creation.

“We are delighted to be working with Government and our colleagues in the Infrastructure Alliance to build on our earlier work with the tunnelling pipeline by extending this approach to the highways sector.  Over recent years government has shown a welcome willingness to take a more co-ordinated, strategic role in developing our infrastructure networks and we’re committed to helping to ensure that the industry responds in kind.”
